Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas
Soroptimist International of Greater Las Vegas (“S/I GLV”) was
chartered on April 15, 1968.

Business meetings are on the 1st Thursday of the month and program
meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the
Desert Pines Golf
Club, 3415 E. Bonanza Rd., Las Vegas, NV  89101 at 11:45 am to 12:
45 am.  Lunches are $15.00 (tax and tip included).  Visitors are
welcome to all

In 1921, the first Soroptimist club was formed in Oakland, California, by
a group of women interested in volunteer service but prohibited from
joining the all-male service organizations.  Now nearly 95,000
Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and
financial support to community—based and international projects
benefiting women and girls.

The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the
organization strives to achieve.  Soroptimist members belong to local
clubs, which determine the volunteer projects conducted in their

International

Great Britain and Ireland,
headquartered in Cheshire,
England, comprises more than
11,000 members in 398 clubs
in 30 countries.
Soroptimist International of
Europe, headquartered in
Geneva, Switzerland,
comprises more than 33,800
members in 1,220 clubs in 67
countries.  
Soroptimist International of
the South West Pacific,
headquartered in Sydney,
Australia, comprises more than
2,650 members in 138 clubs in
12 countries.

Region:  The Soroptimist
International of Americas
federation is comprised of 28
regions.  S/I GLV is in the
Sierra Nevada Region.

Soroptimist Pledge

I pledge allegiance to Soroptimism and to
the ideals for which it stands:
